A busy day on the fenceline, my first day back since the 12th. The three week multi-national exercise ends this week.
More will follow!

An Italian Eurofighter leads two German Tornados to the threshold. The smell of Avtur in the morning ... I know ... :D

The saying should be Avtur in the morning, Avgas is used on piston powered aircraft whilst Avtur is used on turbine powered aircraft.

The Avtur is the one that smells so great and I can smell that all day long.

Sometimes when the aircraft is at a distance with a slight breeze blowing your way is pure "heaven"!

Thanks for the photo's, missed your photo's the last few days!

The smell of avtur is definitely an evocative one.

Greetings H!
Thank you, yes all fine with 'me and mine' in Blighty! New Prime Minister and new King, as you will know. They both have full in-trays so there will be no slacking. :D

Exercise Cobra Warrior 2022:-
Heard along the fenceline whilst watching Luftwaffe Tornados taxiing for take-off - "... all hail the swing-wing Arrow of Death"! =D> :D

So, let us behold the glory!

Friday 23 September was the end of this three week, multi-national Exercise. Returning from their last sorties, the visiting aircraft taxied past us photographers at the fenceline, and the pilots either gave waves or 'saluted' by opening up the airbrakes (even the refueling probe in this picture) of the aircraft. The picture shows an Italian Eurofighter banking slightly to starboard for a top-aspect shot and a Luftwaffe Tornado, doing what Tornados do, afterburners and deafening noise!

A busy and most enjoyable few hours at the fenceline - Ciao / Auf Wiedersehen !!
