1:35 Hobby Boss GCT 155mm AU-F1 SPH based on a T-72.
This consists of 2 kits put together as one - The old Tamiya T-72 chassis on some sprues and the Hobby Boss GCT 155mm turret on other sprues.
Lots of work had to be done on the old T-72 chassis as some holes are too large and others need filling in. Also care needed when removing parts from the sprue due to large connection pieces.
Pics of the box art and of the actual SPH also attached.
No decals to put on as this was only built as a demonstrator to try to sell it to India.

Didn't think there would be demand for a kit of a once-off demo unit.

I believe the South Africans tried the same idea using a 155mm on a T-72 chassis. There is an aftermarket 1/35 resin kit of the SA turret for fitting on a model T-72 chassis - T6 155mm 45 CALIBRE TURRET.
The T6 is a modern 155mm, 45 calibre turret which can be mounted on a suitable chassis. It is basically a G6 turret, but has been repackaged to incorporate an APU and ammunition storage. The T6 has been tested by integrating it with the reliable T72 MBT chassis, and in this configuration it is a definite win combination. Distances of over 39 km can be achieved with ERFB base bleed ammunition. Firing trials have proved the T72 MBT be a very stable firing platform with no spades or support systems required.
