Seeing as it's the 70th anniversary of D day and it is June I was surprised no one has instigated a group build.
If there are more interested then please join in and well get it moved to GB.
For now I would like to build a D day spitfire and mosquito with those famous stripes.

Monogram FB vi mosquito still need to source some markings.

Both to be OOB blitz builds with some seat belts added.

Watch out for Italeri and Airfix' D-Day kits. Eduard also doing a special and as I am sure many other manufacturers.

Academy' 72nd scale P38 in ETO colours and invasion stripes.
Built a while back...turned out to be a tail sitter. Decals were horrible, build was pleasant though.

The forum is very quiet the past few days, and this thread needs some input.
Made some progress over the weekend.

Marc, indeed I do. Would that count. If so, do you know squadron and tail code ?

This might help.

Eurofighter is from 29(R) Squadron, tail number ZK308 and flown by Flt. Lt Noel Rees

I have a partly built Bristol Beaufighter Mk.X.
The vertical stabilizer has this fillet that stops just short of the gun turret.
Any one know is this version came with D-Day stripes?

Hi Jeff - been trawling through books, Internet etc and can't seem to find any reference that the "filleted" Beaufighter carried D-Day markings.

I have scratched threw all my books, and time on the internet, they only thing I found was a built 1/32 Revell model with no detail on the subject.

So after much nagging by O'l Greek George, I have an entry for his D-Day group build 8)

I decided to go with something a little different...an RAF Piper J-3 Cub, I really wanted to do an American one but couldent get the right version but I am now happy to do the RAF machine.

This is the Hobbycraft 1/48 kit, very basic but it looks pretty neat.

The whole fuselage has been moulded in clear with the windows in place
I masked the windows inside and out and gave it a coat of primer...updates to follow over the next few days.

Suddenly I'm not alone anymore and thats good.

M eurofighter sounds good, nice modern take on d day.
I built the F 18 d day version and it looked cool, must find it and post.

Uncle Jeffrey I think you can build a better beaufighter than that, dont worry about the fillet I'm sure it was a possibility that they had some as well. :smt023

And finally Mr Greg it's about time.
I was also thinking what about the German side of d day, they must have sent planes and nightfighters up to get the allies.
