Not a lot of info available on Air Force Base Lanseria, where the grounds and hangers rented by the Air force.

Have some photos of planes, standing outside, but no real idea where the Air Force part was.

The Air Force section was at the North Eastern side of the airfield, what is sometimes now referred to as the freight apron.

Changed a lot over the years since occupied by the SAAF.

I see a lot have changed, see also the runway have changed. I remember it being 06, did they re-build it ? And the tower was on 124. Long time ago. Mid 90's

o, the only other thing I remember is the road to Randburg, hit a speed trap at 170km/h and where stopped- luckily I give a person a lift that spoke the same language as the spietcop. They negotiated on a price of R500 which I handed over for him to pay, when we were back in the car told me i must go like hell. He only dropped around R50 on his seat.

Affirm, 4 Sqn Lanseria.

SAAF leased the ground and hangars.

The airport is undergoing change all the time.

two parallel runways and no cross- runway anymore.

Terminal and parking area also revamped, looks completely different to what it looked like in the 70's.
