Your collection is surely growing Dean! =D>

An interesting fact that I read about in a book that dealt with the country at the end of WW2, was South African made boots were highly sought after throughout the world, especially by American troops.

I acquired a mannequin (or four) this afternoon and was able to dress him up in the exact flight suit, g-suit and boots a friend was wearing when he ejected from an 8 Sqn Impala Mk II in the late 1980's. I also have the parachute used. :-)

A new house will have to be built soon to accommodate your collection Dean.

A nice addition to your collection. =D>

I've looked at the mannequin pathway as well, short a couple of items though. I note that the anti-g suit is grey but other than that appears exactly the same as the green Clansman I have?

Great collection Dean. One of these days your collection, if not yet, will be more worth than the SAAF museum collection... [-X

A very special recent arrival in my collection: SAAF Silver Falcons display team flying overall, named 50th anniversary cap and flying gloves of a former Silver Falcons no 2 member!

I'm still deciding if I should repaint a spare white helmet into Silver Falcon colours to match this collection (three previous SF members have given their approval). It may be an expensive exercise.

Received a little while ago: Flight suit Mk 5, with Type D, Mk.3 parachute harness.

It was used by Canberra navigators and the flying suit incorporates a Life Jacket and a Parachute Harness to enable a chest type parachute to be attached for emergency escape. Boy, is this ensemble heavy!

Being optimistic, I actually purchased the parachute harness a year before I found and purchased the flight suit. :supz:
