This is a ShlO-82 Russian summer helmet, as used by the ANC MK cadres sent to the Soviet Union for training on the Mi-8/Mi-24 during the late 80's. Those training on the L-39 aircraft would also wear this helmet as an inner, together with the ZSh-3M outer hard helmet (coming soon!)

Well, at least it'll take up less space!

Russian ZSh-3M outer helmet as used by the ANC MK cadres sent to the Soviet Union for training on the L-39 during the late 80's.

It was used with the leather helmet (ShLO-61, ShLO-78 or ShLO-82) and Km-32 mask.

Do you source these locally or from overseas? My favourite is by far the early Kentron helmet.

The ZSh-5A was purchased locally and the ZSh-7A was given to me by a local friend.

The other Russian helmets were purchased from Russia and Belarus.

This is a ShZ-78 winter leather helmet with KM-32 mask, complete with throat mike and occipital bladder (inserted into rear of helmet to keep the mask pressed against the face during high-g maneuvers):

It was also used with the ZSh-3M outer hard helmet by the ANC MK cadres sent to the Soviet Union for training on the L-39 training aircraft in the late 1980's:

I am blessed to have been given these:

Type B helmet with RAF Type-E Carbon Microphone Assembly fitted to D-type oxygen mask and a Mk II goggle (dated 1933), as used by SAAF Gloster Gladiator pilot Tienie van der Kaay in East Africa.

Got this one in November last year, been on my Most Wanted List for quite a number of years: Very rare RAF Mk2A helmet as used by Buccaneer crew. :D
