Hey guys

I'm finally back into scale modelling and enjoying it more than ever. I'm currently busy with a Tamiya Tom's Toyota Supra and coming to applying decals to the body soon.

My question is, is there any way to prevent decals from splitting apart? I was busy getting my eye in on an older Subaru '98 WRC kit I had lying around but the decals just fell apart when I put them in the water and don't want a repeat of that as the decals are quite large on the Supra kit.

I'm busy sourcing Micro Sol and Micro Set, but is there anything I can do to prevent the kits from breaking apart?

Thanks in advance.

Spray with some sort of clear lacquer prior to inserting into water?

In addition to Deans suggestion, there is also decal film. best is to experiment and see what works for you.

If it's an old kit, best to order aftermarket decals. I tried everything on an old Tamiya Beaufighter, nothing worked. Same thing, they just disintegrated in the water.
