Check out this movie, where Gene Hackman plays a similar role to Owen Wilson's.

There is some amazing C337 flying in there.

Must concur .. I really enjoyed Bat21 :smt023

I also have fond memories of the Firefox movie with Clint Eastwood .... although that might just have been my impressionable youth .. :-k

Sky Fighters (Les Chevaliers Du Ciel) trumps Top Gun. \:D/ :smt023 =D>
The F-14 is one of my favourite machines, but Tom Cruise ruined the movie. That, and the fact that things weren't constant annoyed me (one shot the wings are swept back, the other they're fully forward. One shot the pilot's helmet is blue and the visor is down, the next shot it's blue and white and there's no visor). #-o

Agreed, Les Chevaliers du Ciel (The Knights of the Sky) is one of the greatest aviation themed movies of all time.

I've not seen the Les Chevaliers movie :( .... however the 'Chevaliers' trailer only (mainly) has Mirage 2000 planes playing around ....

Top Gun has not only Tomcats but Kelly McGillis - you know what I mean? Look, where else do you get to see a pair of stilletto heels addressing a bunch of fighter jocks on aviation matters :) . But I fully understand your sentiments for the creation of Marcel Dassault! Many were the times that we were grateful for their prescence and contribution, back those days.

"To Dassault for producing a thoroughbred". Vlamgat by Dick Lord. =D>

I didn't like Top Gun at all. In my opinion, it was an advert for Ray Bans. :)

Top Gun: Like all American movies over rated and over done.

i agree , Topgun has many goofs. Opening aerial encounter goose says " i lost him in the sun " referring to a mig28 which he had never seen "that close before". He lost the Mig28 because the visor was not down.

I liked HOT SHOTS! (topgun spoof) made when Charlie Sheen was a rising star, climbing faster than a F15 Eagle...
