I know we lost 2 x Hinds. I believe that these were original deliveries before they were upgraded.

Thanks Skyhawk, gripping stuff.

Michael Enslin was imparted with typical Rhodesian tenacity. What the linked article fails to mention was the slog that LT Enslin had to make to find own forces and when he did, found that they were under siege. From memory he spent two weeks with them fighting before they were relieved.

Also poor editing - re "agressing" the target area, instead of egressing.

Mike I've searched for almost two days now, through internet sources to confirm your request, but could only find one reference to an Enslin, with no first names or rank, and to get hold of the data package I need to register and spend a load of money ... which I'm not prepared to do now.

There is no confirmation that Lt Enslin got any decorations, but I think the best place to start searching is with himself. No articles or refernces in open source internet, though.

Another great pic

Nice photoshop, but it makes the mistake of using an iconic image from the Vietnam war. The image is in fact a still taken from a video showing a low-level napalm attack in Vietnam taken by an onboard camera. I'm not sure of the aircraft type and there is no other aircraft in sight in the original footage, but due to the low speed, it was probably an A-1 Skyraider that took it.

The footage was also used in the movie "Rescue Dawn".
