The Super Lynx helicopters are armed with a pintle-mounted FN Herstal M3M 0.5in (12.7mm) heavy machine gun.
The M3M, manufactured by FN Herstal of Belgium, contains three parts: The machine gun, the Medium Pintle Head or 'soft mount", and the Cradle, which is used to integrate the weapon into the helicopter. It features an openbolt with an internal recoil spring.
