142 Squadron

"Caelo Vis Solvamus" (Unleash the Power in the Sky)

Mobile unit equipped with the Tactical Mobile Radar (TMR) mobile radar station, based on the Marconi S711.

The TMR is a medium range radar system and it covers up to a range of 64 nautical miles at 15 revolutions per minute and a 100 nautical miles at 7.5 revolutions per minute. The systems are deployed in a complete tactical role, which entails that it requires the minimum to sustain itself for a period of up to 20 days. During this period the system can be re-deployed several times as the battle situation requires.

The TMR system consist of 4 containers which are as follows:

• Antenna.
• Transmitter Cabin + Power Generator.
• Operations Cabin + Power Generator.
• M12 Workshop.
• The support vehicles for the radar system could consist of the following:
• MAN 8X8 Recovery.
• Samil 100 Diesel Bowser.
• Samil 50 Water Bowser.
• MAN 19/280 with Domestic pack up.
• Light vehicles.
