THE AIRFORCE - THE MUSEUM
Port Elizabeth
The SAAF Museum satellite in Port Elizabeth houses an interesting and
varied collection of exhibits covering the full period of the SAAF's
existence. The museum's static exhibits are housed in the original 42
Air School Gunnery Training Centre, which was established during World
War II as part of the RAF/SAAF Joint Air Traning Scheme.
The aircraft restoration centre is housed in one of the original Bellman
hangars.
A gift shop selling books, models and posters is operated on weekends
and all profits are used to assist the Museum. Refreshments and restroom
facilities are available. Facilities for the handicapped include special
parking and ramps.
