Civilian aircraft.

CHC Helicopters

Private helipad in Table Bay Harbour.

Road directions are to travel east on the N1 motorway (direction Paarl) from the City centre towards Ysterplaat. Turn off onto the R27 (Marine Drive) at the R27 Paarden Eiland, Milnerton junction. At the first robot junction you reach, turn left into Container Road and pass through the redundant security check point. Go over the railway track courtesy of a bridge and take a turn on your right. The helipad and hangar can be found down this road.

Google Earth co-ordinates S 33 54' 46", E 18 27' 37".

Fisantekraal Airfield

From Cape Town, take the N1 East towards Paarl, take R304 turnoff (Klipheuwel) northwards to the 4-way stop and then the R312 West for about 1km to the entrance to the airfield on your right.

Light civil aircraft, mostly microlights.

HeliBase

A private helicopter pad on the edge of the Cape Town CBD.

Road directions are to travel West on the N1 motorway from Ysterplaat towards the City centre. As you see the Docks on your right and the railway works on your left, you will soon see the HeliBase hangar right by the N1 motorway on your left hand side. To actually get into the site, come off the motorway at the next
junction (M60 Oswald Pirow Street) and then take the next available left which I think is Jack Craig St? It is one way and you should see a "Vietnam Helicopters" sign when you are near the entrance. Follow your nose through an industrial wasteland until you reach a security checkpoint. Make your excuses here if you want access to HeliBase!

Google Earth co-ordinates are S 33 55' 18", E 18 26' 35".

Various UH-1H, AB-205, Super Frelon and Aloluette II helicopters.
