Tenders awarded during March 2011

Armscor, the State arms procurement agency, issued a number of tenders and contracts relating to the SAAF during March 2011.
These included the following:
A contract for the procurement of a floor interface pallet for the Martin-Baker multi-functional operator's seat was issued to Agusta Westland of Italy on 3 March. The value of the contract was R2 189 141,56.
A R560 000,00 contract for staff support for procurement of the A-Darter air-to-air missile system was awarded to EOH Abantu (Pty) Ltd, t/a Highveld PFS, on 10 March.
On the same date, Aerosud Aerospace Systems (Pty) Ltd were awarded a R4 351 340,00 extension to their contract for product support for the C47-TP aircraft system.
An extension of the contract for support services of the tactical mobile radar and mono-pulse secondary surveillance radar systems for the SAAF valued at R3 806 838,30 was awarded to Reutech Solutions (Pty) Ltd, t/a RDL, on 17 March.
Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Dynamics, was awarded a R1 333 792,40 extension to their contract on 17 March for preparation of A-darter client furnished equipment data and hardware items.
Also on 17 March, Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Aviation, was awarded a R9 500 000,00 extension for Product support for the Hercules C-130 aircraft.
A Request for Quotation was issued to various companies on 18 March for the provision of product support services for various South African Air Force aircraft:
- Falcon 50 and 900
- Cessna 208 Caravan
- Beechcraft King Air
On 22 March, a number of companies were requested to quote for procurement of FZ-90 rocket systems for the SAAF Rooivalk helicopter.
A R87 729 244,43 extension to a contract for development of the A-Darter air-to-air missile was awarded to Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Aerospace Systems, on 23 March.
An extension of the contract for interim product support services for the SA Air Force's Gripen aircraft, valued at R3 806 838,30, was awarded to Gripen International KB of Sweden on 23 March.
The same day saw a R1 062 926,00 extension awarded to Volvo Aero Corporation of Sweden for on demand support services for the South African Air Force's Gripen fighter aircraft engines.
EADS CASA (OEM) were awarded an extension to their contract, valued at R475 954,01, for the provision of product support services for the South African Air Force CASA 212 and 235 aircraft on 24 March.
A Request for Quotation for technical support during the A109 Light Utility Helicopter communication system upgrade was issued to SAAB Grintek Defence (Pty) Ltd, t/a SAAB Grintek Communication Systems, on 28 March.
