Tenders awarded during December 2010

Armscor, the State arms procurement agency, issued a number of tenders and contracts relating to the SAAF during December 2010.
These included the following:
Agusta SpA of Italy was awarded a R 8 904 362,72 extension to their contract on 2 December for equipment and services for the Agusta A109 light utility helicopter fleet.
A R400 000,00 extension to a contract for product support for the Dakota C47-TP aircraft system was awarded to Aerosud Aerospace Systems (Pty) Ltd on 10 December.
The locally developed A-Dater IR AAM program received a shot in the arm on 15 December when a request for quotation was issued to Denel (Pty) Ltd, trading as Denel Dynamics, for a scope of work optimization study for the integration of the A-Darter onto the Hawk aircraft and complete provisional definition of the KAMAS programme.
On 22 December, Diehl BGT Defence GmbH & Co. KG of Germany were requested to quote for a silent pure air gas filing station for the Iris-T AAM.
On the same date, BAE Systems - Land Systems SA (Pty) Ltd, trading as Land Systems Dynamics, were an extension to their contract for low cost aerial target systems flying services. Contract value was R1 315 789,00.
Also on 22 December, Tellumat (Pty) Ltd, trading as Tellumat Defence were awarded a R396 491,00 extension to their contract for limited product supply support for the mobile azimuth range and 3-dimensional radar systems for the SA Air Force.
Execujet Maintenance (Pty) Ltd were also granted an extension to their contract for the Presidential Boeing Business jet product support services on the same date. This extension is valued at R 2 362 850,28.
The final contract of 22 December was a R1 243 811,95 extension issued to BAE Systems Warton Aerodrome (Operations) Ltd of the UK for interim product support for the Hawk fighter aircraft.
A Request for Quotation for conversion kits to convert four FN 7,62 MAG machine guns from Model MAG 58 infantry type to Model MAG 58m mounting type for mounting in the Augusta light utility helicopterwas issued to Unionlet Ltd of the UK on 23 December.
