Tenders awarded during November 2010

Armscor, the State arms procurement agency, issued a number of tenders and contracts relating to the SAAF during November 2010.
These included the following:
A number of companies were issued a Request for Quotation on 9 November for current intelligence system upgrade for the SAAF.
A Request for Quotation was issued to SAAB Grintek Defence (Pty) Ltd, t/a SAAB Logtronics, on 15 November for strategic buy-out obsolescence stock to support and maintain the various electronic warfare related systems for the Rooivalk combat support helicopter.
On the same date, numerous companies were requested to provide manpower to assist the SAAF with the phasing out of the Cheetah system/Belgrado.
A Request for Quotation for the provision of product support services for the C-130BZ aircraft was issued to, on 17 November.
Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Aviation were also awarded an extension to their contract for product support services for the Hercules C-130 aircraft on 18 November. The extension is worth R10 404 045,14.
On 18 November, Diehl BGT Defence GmbH & Co. KG of Germany were awarded a R42 600,00 extension to their contract for the purging of missile and rental of gas filling equipment for the Iris-T AAM.
A R10 014 851,94 extension to a contract with Volvo Aero Corporation of Sweden for on demand support services for the Gripen fighter aircraft engines was awarded on 25 November.
Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Aviation, was awarded a R390 682 957,61 extension to their contract on 25 November for product support for the Oryx helicopter fleet.
25 November saw Pilatus Aircraft Ltd awarded a R19 919 587,50 extension to their contract for the replacement of a Pilatus Astra avionic suite.
