Tenders awarded during October 2010

Armscor, the State arms procurement agency,issued a number of tenders and contracts relating to the SAAF during October 2010.
These included the following:
A Request for Quotation was issued to Advanced Technologies & Engineering (Pty) Ltd on 1 November for engineering support on the Hawk Mk 120 during the electronic warfare flight testing campaign in November 2010.
Reutech Radar Systems (Pty) Ltd was awarded a R385 965,00 extension to their contract on 6 October for product support supply of the tactical mobile radar and the monopulse secondary surveillance radar system.
A R1 358 050,00 extension to a contract with Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Aviation, for product support for Hawk aircraft components was awarded on 20 October.
A Request for Quotation for the procurement of two Arrius 2K2 engines for the A109 light utility helicopter, inclusive of electronic engine control unit subsystem and long term storage container, was issued to Agusta Westland and Turbomeca on 20 October.
26 October saw a Request for Quotation issued to Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Aviation and SAAB Grintek Defence (Pty) Ltd, t/a SAAB Logtronics, for a buy out option for obsolete spares and excess production spares for repair and maintenance stock for the avionics system of the Rooivalk combat support helicopter.
On the same date, Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Aviation, was requested to provide a quote for the acquisition of Rooivalk gearbox line replaceable units for the Rooivalk.
The CSIR, t/a DPSS, was requested to provide a quote for flutter and flight clearance services on 27 October.
Tellumat (Pty) Ltd, t/a Tellumat Defence, was awarded an extension to their contract worth R232 840,00 on 27 October for maintenance and support services of the airfield radar approach systems for the SA Air Force.
