Tenders awarded during September 2010

Armscor, the State arms procurement agency,issued a number of tenders and contracts relating to the SAAF during September 2010.
These included the following:
An extension to an existing contract for the preparation of A-Darter client furnished equipment data and hardware items was issued to Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Dynamics on 2 September. The extension is valued at R3 191 705,00.
15 September saw a number of companies requested to quote for the supply of very high frequency omni directional radio range, tactical VORTAC air navigation, instrument landing system, direction finder and distance measuring equipment.
Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Aviation, were issued with a Request for Quotation on 21 September for the operational product supply support for 11 Rooivalk aircraft.
A Request for Quotation was issued to SAAB Grintek Defence (Pty) Ltd, t/a SAAB Systems SA, on 22 September for the development and testing of interface between Gripen mission support system and SAAF intelligence system.
Also on 22 September, a number of contract extensions were awarded, as follows:
- Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Aerospace Group Aviation : Product support services for the C130 aircraft (R9 812 323,86)
- Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Aviation: Product support for the Oryx helicopter fleet (R9 664 536,39)
- Gripen International KB: On demand support services for the Gripen aircraft (R6 175 342,54)
On 30 September, Agusta S.p.A. were awarded a R5 673 504,00 extension to their contract for on demand support for the A109 Light Utility Helicopter system.
