Tenders awarded during July 2010

Armscor, the State arms procurement agency, issued a number of tenders and contracts relating to the SAAF during July 2010.
These included the following:
Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Aviation, were awarded an externtion to their contract on 13 July for the service, rectification and engineering support during recovery of C-130BZ Hercules aicraft 402. The aircraft suffered fire damage when it's brakes caught fire during pre-delivery testing after upgrade in Otober 2004. Contract value is R200 000. A further R22 028,00 extension was awarded on 21 July.
The vfollowing contracts were awarded on 15 July:
•- A R2 653 401,82 extension to a contract for interim product support for the Super Lynx maritime helicopter was awarded to Westland Helicopters Limited.
•- Fifth Dimension Computer Technologies was awarded a R49 673,20 extension to their contract for the design and development of aircrew training systems.
•- Tellumat (Pty) Ltd, t/a Tellumat Defence, was awarded an extension to their contract for limited product supply support for the mobile azmuth range and 3-dimensional radar systems valued at R42 900,00.
•- An extension to a contract for on demand support services for the Gripen aircraft, valued at R3 069 337,00, was awared to Gripen International KB.
•- Execujet Maintenance (Pty) Ltd received a R789 473,00 extension to their contract for product support for the Falcon 900 and 50 aircraft
An extension for interim product support for the Agusta 109 light utility helicopter, valued at R3 500 000,00, was awarded to Agusta S.p.A. on 21 July.
On the same date, Sysdel CC received a R1 777 174,00 extension to their contract for limited product supply support of the open loop tracker, Dakota electronic intelligence, ESM/elctronic intelligence and Oryx radar standoff jammer systems for the SAAF.
29 July saw Aerosud Engineering (Pty) Ltd being awarded an extension to their contract for product support for the Dakota C-47TP aircraft system valued at R357 894,00.
