Air force rescue budget depleted
Date: 4 October 2000
The SAAF maritime search and rescue's annual budget has been depleted after three days searching for a missing skiboat off the Cape south coast.
A search by a Dakota, the NSRI and coastal patrols have found no trace of the Jo-Anne which failed to arrive at Mossel Bay on due date. An Air Force spokesman said the budget for air searches has been depleted and any further flights could only be sanctioned at ministerial level.
