Tenders awarded during December 2009

Armscor issued a number of tenders relating to the SAAF during December 2009.
These included the following:
On 1 December, a request for quotation was issued to Astra Aircraft Corporation (Pty) Ltd, t/a Atalanta, for the supply of Alpha helmets and Alpha 220 spares for the SAAF.
The Sofema Groupe of France were also requested to quote for Ulmer oxygen masks and Elno 500 helmets and components.
BAE Systems - Land Systems SA (Pty) Ltd, t/a Land Systems Dynamics was awarded and extension to their contract for low cost aerial target systems flying services valued at R2.5m
Execujet Maintenance (Pty) Ltd was awarded extensions to their existing contracts for:
- Product support services for CASA 212 and 235 aircraft, valued at R868 421.
- Presidential Boeing Business Jet product support services, valued at R526 315.
- Beechraft aircraft product support services, valued at R1 052 631.
In a surprise contract award, Denel (Pty) Ltd, trading as Denel aviation, were awarded an extension to their contract for product support for the Cheetah fighter aircraft on 10 December. The contract is valued at R500 000 and as the Cheetah is no longer in service with the SAAF, the reason for the contract extension is not known.
A R122 496 extension of their contract was awarded to Reutech Solutions (Pty) Ltd, t/a RDL, on 21 December for support services of the tactical mobile radar mon-pulse secondary surveillance radar systems for the SAAF.
