THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE ANNOUNCES A FATAL HELICOPTER ACCIDENT IN KWAZULU-NATAL

The Minister of Defence, Lindiwe Sisulu regrets to announce the passing on of three members of the South African Air Force following a fatal aircraft accident (Agusta A109 helicopter) which occurred during a training flight to Dragons Peak Park in KwaZulu-Natal on the morning of 12 May 2009.
The names of the deceased will be released once their next of kin have been informed.
A Board of Enquiry has been convened to investigate the cause of the accident.
The Ministry, Chief of the South African National Defence Force, General Godfrey Ngwenya extend their deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of the deceased.
