Brazil plans to invest $52m in A-Darter missile

Brazil has agreed to join the A-Darter IR-guided air-to-air missile program. Initially, the FAB (Brazilian Air Force) will inject $52 million into the development process, while Brazil's Mectron becomes a development partner. It's estimated that the FAB will eventually inject up to $100 million to $130 million into the project.
Denel has already formed a company, Denel of Brazil, with an office in São José dos Campos. Thus it will be close to the main involved agencies of the BAF in this program: the DEPED (Department of Research and Development), CTA (Centro Técnico Aeroespacial), and of the industries with that it will make the interface, in particular MECTRON.
