A South African Air Force student pilot narrowly escaped death moments after taking off from Air Force Base Hoedspruit in Limpopo yesterday when his plane hit two vultures.

To summarize the article: Captain Colin Sparke took off from Hoedspruit for an Navigational Exercise, at 600ft his Impala MkII struck two vultures and he was forced to eject due to insufficient airspeed and altitude. Aircraft exploded on impact. Sparke only suffered some scratches and bruises.
