Oryx crash lands

Johannesburg - Three crew of an SA Airforce Oryx helicopter escaped unharmed when the aircraft crash-landed in the Kempton Park area on Thursday afternoon.
"The helicopter was attempting to land after its flight when it spun out of control and was involved in an uncontrolled landing," the defence department said in a statement.
The helicopter came down at about 14:00 in an open veld near Johannesburg International Airport.
"The crew of the helicopter (a pilot, co-pilot and engineer) escaped unharmed and were taken to 1 Military Hospital (in Pretoria) as a precautionary measure."
A board of enquiry has been convened to determine the cause of the accident, the statement said.
The extent of damage to the aircraft was not yet known.
