The Afrikaans Gauteng daily, Beeld, reports that the SA Army and Air Force are fighting over maintaining a nuclear blast-proof bunker next to Army headquarters in Pretoria. The bunker, built in the 1980's to house the SAAF's command post (it still hosts the Bosveld Air Control Sector), is now mainly used by the Joint Operations staff of the SANDF. The two services are now fighting over who must pay for the building's maintenance. As a result of the spat the building has reportedly not been maintained for some years and is falling into disrepair. Its foundations are allegedly also moving, Beeld reported. The building, named "Blenny" for obscure reasons, also recently completely failed an occupational health and safety test.
