More generals and admirals appointed

The chief of the SANDF this week announced the promotion of 13 general officers and six admirals. General Siphiwe Nyanda also announced the promotion to general officer rank of eight colonels and to flag rank of one naval captain. Among the appointments are:

• Maj Gen MP Janse van Resnsburg as General Officer Commanding (GOC) SAAF Air Command
• Brig Gen P.B. Willcock, SAAF. Appointment as D Air Acq at Acq and Proc Div wef 1 Apr 02
• Brig Gen O.A. Schür, SAAF. Appointment as D Air Combat CBT Systems at the Air Comd wef 1 Apr 02
  Col P.J. van Zyl, SAAF. Promotion to the substantive rank of Brig Gen and appoint-ment as Director Air Capability Planning at the Air Office wef 1 Apr 02.
• Col H.T. Paine, SAAF. Pro-motion to the substantive rank of Brig Gen and appointment as Director Helicopter Systems Group at the Air Comd.
• Col A. Kriegler, SAAF. Pro-motion to the substantive rank of Brig Gen and appointment as Director Air Transport and Marine Systems at the Air Comd.
• Col L. Lombard, SAAF. Pro-motion to the substantive rank of Brig Gen and appointment as Director Command and Control Systems at the Air Comd.
