The future of the SAAF Museum at AFB Ysterplaat has been assured with the SAAF accepting a business plan written by Dean Wingrin with the assistance of Kirk Kirnear.

A new Section 21 company (non-profit company) will be formed to take over the running of the Museum at Ysterplaat. Although still in the planning stages, the SAAF will hand over all the exhibits and displays on a 'gate guardian policy'. Although the new Museum will remain in its present complex for the near future, the plan is for it to expand to the present 11 Hanger complex. This hanger, formerly used for Shackleton servicing, has a large hanger, workshops and display area. It is also very near to the VIP gate to Koeberg Road and can be easily fenced off from the rest of the Base.

Donations are eagerly requested!
