Tenders awarded during August 2011

Armscor, the State arms procurement agency, issued a number of tenders and contracts relating to the SAAF during August 2011.
These included the following:
A number of extensions to contracts were awarded on 11 August, as follows:
· Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Aviation, for product support services for the Hercules C-130 aircraft valued at R13 096 571.00.
· Agusta S.p.A. of Italy for on demand support for the A109 light utility helicopter system valued at R990 212.62
· Tellumat (Pty) Ltd, t/a Tellumat Defence, for limited product supply support of the Umlindi Azimuth Range and Three Dimensional Long Range Radar Systems for the SA Air Force valued at R129 012.00.
A number of extensions to contracts were awarded on 18 August, as follows:
· SAAB Grintek Defence (Pty) Ltd, t/a Saab Avitronics, for maintenance and support services of self protection systems for the Oryx Helicopter and aircraft valued at R5 263 158.00
· Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Aviation, for product support for the SA Air Force's Hawk and Gripen aircraft components, LRU's SRU's and ground support and test equipment valued at R4 972 730.00.
· EADS CASA (OEM) of Spain for product support services for the CASA 212 and 235 aircraft valued at R977 750.00.
On 24 August, a number of South African companies were requested to tender for on demand product support for the BK117 helicopter fleet.
A Request for Quotation was issued to Advanced Technologies & Engineering (Pty) Ltd on 31 August for logistic support for the unmanned aerial observation systems.
