Tenders awarded during July 2011

Armscor, the State arms procurement agency, issued a number of tenders and contracts relating to the SAAF during July 2011.
These included the following:
A number of local companies were requested to quote on 12 July for the supply of flight inspection services for very high frequency omni-directional radio range tactical air navigational beacon and instrument landing systems for SAAF.
A Request for Quotation was issued to Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH of Switzerland and Mietsei Ltd of Greece on 14 July for 27 mm x 145 ammunition for the rapid cannon system.
Execujet Maintenance (Pty) Ltd was awarded an extension to their contract for Presidential Boeing Business Jet product support services on 14 July. The extension is valued at R31 705 444,00.
On the same date, Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Aviation, was awarded a R23 769 819,00 extension to their contract for product support services for the Hercules C130 aircraft
Volvo Aero Corporation of Sweden was also awarded an extension to their contract for on-demand support services for the SAAF's Volvo RM12 engines on the Gripen aircraft on 14 July, valued at R4 750 690,42.
22 July saw a Request for Quotation issued to SAAB Grintek Defence (Pty) Ltd, t/a Support Services, for steady state support for the communication equipment on the South African Air Force A109 and Lynx helicopters.
On the same date, Cobham Advance Technologies was issued with a Request for Quotation for steady state support for the direction finding equipment on the South African Air Force A109 and Lynx helicopters.
A Request for Quotation for steady state supports of the surveillance equipment on the SA Air Force aircraft 109 and Lynx helicopters was issued to Tellumat SA Ltd on 27 July.
A number of local companies were also issued with a Request for Quotation on 27 July for steady state support for the Collins radio navigation equipment on the SA Air Force's Lynx helicopter.
An extension of the contract for interim product support for on-demand support services for the SAAF Gripen aircraft, valued at R5 000 761,49, was awarded to Gripen International KB of Sweden on 28 July.
