Tenders awarded during June 2011

Armscor, the State arms procurement agency, issued a number of tenders and contracts relating to the SAAF during June 2011.

These included the following:

An extension of the contract for interim product support for the SA Air Force's Hawk fighter aircraft, valued at R6 897 118,64, was awarded to BAE Systems Warton Aerodrome (Operations) Ltd on 2 June.

Rheinmetall Denel Munitions (Pty) Ltd were awarded an extension to their contract for missile technology for aerial targets on 8 June. The extension price is R5 321 738,03.

A R877 192,00 extension to the contract for the maintenance of cargo parachutes and related equipment was awarded to Lelebotse Projects & Engineering (Pty) Ltd on 8 June.

A large number of local and international companies were requested to quote on 9 June for the supply a of high altitude parachute system.

10 June saw a Request for Quotation issued to a number of local companies for provisioning of product support services for the South African Air Force's Cessna Citation air transport system.

Advanced Technologies & Engineering (Pty) Ltd were awarded a R1 000 000,00 extension to their contract on 15 June for repair/overhaul components for the Hawk.

An extension of the contract worth R6 266 932,00 was awarded to the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company on 23 June for product support for the CASA 212 and 235 aircraft.

A Request for Quotation was issued to BAE Systems Warton Aerodrome (Operations) Ltd of the UK and Vepac Electronics (Pty) Ltd of Edenvale on 27 June for the procurement of pylon spares for the Hawk fighter aircraft.

A R307 270,00 extension to the contract for purging of missiles and rental of gas filling equipment for the IRIS-T system was awarded to Diehl BGT Defence GmbH & Co. KG on 30 June.

Mountain Range Investment, t/a BD Private Consulting, were awarded a R254 694,36 extension to their contract on 30 June for product support for the SAAF Hawk aircraft centralised training centre.

On the same date, a R2 976 455,00 extension to the contract for the maintenance and repair of aircraft arrestor barrier systems in the SAAF was awarded to Brimet Projects (Pty) Ltd.
