4 Gripens into Swartkops this morning,I heard only Solo performance from Silver Falcons?whats the reason? No more NAC sponsor? They say they Team 82 is still doing final fly-offs for #2 and working up their display sequence.

Will post some pictures later,I am going tomorrow.

The computicket tickets can no longer be printed online,so get your ticket early at a Checkers or shoprite printed out.

Looks like a good show.

First time in a while that there is no Cheetah.

Missed the morning session. Doesn't help squinting into the sun for 5 hours. Afternoon session was blessed with no cloud, unlike the past several years. No angel wings (flares) in the Herc display. No flares in the Gripen display either  :? . Most beautiful colour scheme by a country mile is L-39 ZU-TEE in her new colours. Best aircraft for me was the C-130. Beautifully weathered in the late afternoon sunlight. Display Hawk was Gannet. Some really incredible aerobatics displays as well from the venerable Harvards to the latest light weight hot rods. Nice flyby of 12 Harvards. A bit slow at times but good displays nonetheless :smt023. Now to sift through 24Gb of photos....

I can wholeheartedly echo MARS’ and Mistral’s sentiments

A nice fun outing with excellent flight displays

It was well organized, the gates opened at 07:00 and the base and surroundings were much neater compared to previous years

A great effort in budget constrained times

Dean, can you find out why no flares? Was really hoping for flares on the C-130, had flares on but not fired!!! Otherwise excellent, Gannet HAWK, new Gripen for me 3916 and A109 4026 which is a Durban based one!!

The lack of flare's was slightly disappointing considering that the it was mentioned in the program and over the PA system. But that was more than made up for by the quality and variety of the air displays.

I think think a record must have been set for the most number of display teams to fly in a single airshow in South Africa.

Alouette team.
Red Bull team.
Cow aerobatic team.
Puma Energy aerobatic team.
Good Year Eagles.
Team Extreme.
Silver Falcon representation.

I only got there at 12,as Malcolm mentioned not worth it earlier,I was also sick with flu so getting up early was not on the cards,I was impressed how clean the grounds was during the whole day,The other than Brian Emminis commentators where in fact worse, especially during that last Gripen display,Which was also disappointing the display,The misleading info again about using flares that where again like Langebaan not used, nice tactic to get the crowds in under false pretenses. Here are a few of my pics to start off with will be editing a few during today. The weather was amazing and not even cold with not a cloud in sight, which was so nice.

The Mini war was the best in my opinion my guests for the day also agreed.
