I am interested in the Impala jet and I would like to ask if someone knows the typical setup of on-board electronics on the Mk 2?
From the SAAF Museum photos available online at
https://saafmuseum.org.za/images-2/museum-aircraft-cockpits/ and
https://www.sa-transport.co.za/aircraft/atlas/impala_mk2.html I deducted that the plane was fitted with the following electronics:
- a Fuchs Electronics VHF COM radio;
- an intercom;
- and a Marconi ADF.
Perhaps it also used a TACAN navigation radio of an unknown type and an IFF, but these items are hardly visible on the photos. Whether it had an UHF COM radio remains unattested.
Does anyone have more details on the setup and could share them please?
