I am wanting to apply to join the SAAF. I am a white male(19 years old turning 20), currently studying a Bachelor of Science at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University going into my second year now. I have had my eye on recruitment to SAAF for a while and it seems to be quite low chances. I have the marks needed: finished matric with 44 APS points with a 75% and 77% mark for mathematics and physical science respectively. I am fit physical condition and have good eye sight ( wear nothing to assist me either).
I would just like to maybe get some feedback on what the current situation is like and what my chances are of possibly being recruited.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Hi Sparrow. One thing is for sure, your chances are zero if you don't apply. Get the application process started and take it from there. What are you wanting to apply for?

Well in my group of 25 two of us made it to the medicals...and then both of us failed the medicals :S And not on eyesight and hearing...apparently they test other things as well

Anyway. Id say your chances are good to pass the psychometric and motor test - given that you are in university - it should help to develop logic and reasoning and that sort of stuff.
