I'll take one over the weekend for you. To give you an idea, My head comes to the top of the bookshelf on the right, so just above the F14, and I'm 5'9" :)

Thanks Monique - I am one of those imagination-deprived characters when it comes to scales. Either have to have a ruler or human in the picture to get a good grasp of the size!

I've still not got the big camera out for a pic of me holding it, it has a timer, my phone doesn't. So you'll have to wait till tomorrow ;)

Okay, got the horiz and vert stab and elevators done. Ready now to join the aft section of the fus to the rest. I'll do that tomorrow while the housemates are out so I can commandeer the lounge

Looking good - so, by my thumbsuck, back of the cyber envelope, calculation the beast will be 3.75 metres long with a span of 2.598 metres? And about half a metre high?

Not quite.

Length will be 94" and wingspan 64", so 2.4m long by 1.62m wingspan.

Mmmm - happens when you try and convert to metric in your head at midnight! I seem to think your wingspan should be 66 inches and length 95.5! (44 ft and 63 ft 5 inches) Or 1.676 metre wingspan by 2.416 length and 0.618 metre height! (Should have hauled the book with the metric dimensions out first then I would not have made a fool of myself!)

Skinned the wings and got the wing bolt nut thingies sorted too today. Not much left construction wise now, then it's onto glassing and finishing.

Of course, I had to nip downstairs and put it all together for a look see :)

Weight so far is 3.1 lbs or 1.4kg

Cheers Eugene, I'll build you one ;)

All the skinning is done now. Just a few details to add before I begin filling and sanding to prep for the glass.

She is looking fantastic Monique! Like Eugene, interested in knowing how it will be powered.

Have finally gotten back to the Bucc. Started today with some filling. Then a coat of PolyC on the depron, followed by the cloth. I'm using 0.6 oz cloth throughout. This pic is of the first coat over the cloth. I've now glassed the top and bottom of the stab and elevators and given it all three coats over the glass with a sanding between each.

I'll have to wait and see tomorrow once it's cured to see how the weave has filled. I'm hoping then that two coats of primer, rubbed between each, will give a nice finish to spray the colour onto.

Me next to the thing so you can see how big it is.
