Just curious as to why there haven't been any? Lack of funds?
Really miss watching the ground runs :(

The monthly ground-runs were put on hold while 1722’s propellers were being treated for corrosion. Work is nearly complete and once a test run has been done to check for vibration, a date will be set for a public ground-run.

Was at Ysterplaat today and the Shackleton successfully completed its ground run without any prop vibration issues. :smt023

Announcement for the next public ground run will be released shortly.

Looks like the next public ground-run is scheduled for 31 August 2013.
Phone the museum beforehand to confirm. 021 508-6576

Regretably, Saturday's (31 Aug '13) ground-run has been postponed to Saturday 07 September 2013, due to severe weather predictions throughout the entire coming weekend.

Is the run still on for the weekend?

Cheers

Ground run is still on for this Saturday 7th September. Weather forecast looks good.
Please note the later run-up time of 12h30. =D>

Hi everyone

Would that mean that you should be there from 12h00?

Thanks

I would think from 11h30. Earlier if you want to see 1722 being taken out of 4 Hangar and maybe hear some choice words, currently not found in the English Dictionary, from Pottie. Please note this exercise carries a PG 18 restriction (strong language) and is not suitable for children! :D
