Some questions out of boredom, some out of interest, and some out of an actual intent to do something:

Does anyone know of a publication of any kind which would be interested in digital 3D models of one or more (old) South African railway stations?

What requirements does someone have to meet to be legally eligible to become president of South Africa?

Are there any legal issues with using current or past SAAF insignia on commercial products not depicting original usage?

Does anyone have a technical drawing showing the exact details (proportions, angles, colours etc) of the SAAF Castle-Eagle insignia; similar to the one recently posted, depicting the Castle-Springbok insignia?

Anyone else think the two castle insignias would make awesome earrings?

A little difficult given his present state....

I was referring to his time in the ANC as Minister of Finance. Logically he should have been next in line for the presidency but... the "democratic and representative" ANC has a glass ceiling if you're of paler complexion. I can't say that I'm au fauit with his present state? Are the gears not engaged or the clutch not released?

He is dead. And the reason he did not get another term as minister of finance was that his health was already badly deteriorating - he had cancer IIRC - and asked to be relieved of the duties.

I think news of Trevor Manuel's death are greatly exaggerated.

First, you have to be serving in the ANC.
Second, you need to be in a position where the state owes you for your decades of commitment to the struggle.
Third, you need to be part of a click in the party, where the click will support you, never mind your skill to govern.
Forth, your click must know how to intimidate, murder is an option.

You mean clique, I hope?

What you say is true in practice but not theory. If you can start a party that defeats them at election time, and there's nothing stopping that (though unlikely), away you go.

I think I'll just leave that question here and take the others to a separate thread...
