What type of plane is ZS-AMS? I drove past one the other day which had landed on a farm and was refuelling. If I wasn't in such a hurry I'd have snapped a picture or two.

PILATUS PC-12/47

It is indeed an interesting reg .. as the "AMS" stands for Air Mercy Service, with the registered owners being SA Red Cross Air Mercy Service.

Thanks Eugene. I was wondering about the reg... is that coincidence or is there some room for personalisation?

Some room - a number of organisations have obtained regs that reflect their mission.
Try ZS-SAP for the Police's Cessna.

hey Kermlin

Look at Namibian Airways V5 ANH photo, if you look past the aircraft at the old 35sqn hangers there is an aircraft with folded wings! looks like a bucc.

Correct :smt023

It is the ex-SAAF Buccaneer #416, parked between the old 35 sqdn hangars.

Wheels have been in motion for some time now to bring her back to the Ysterplaat Museum.

Seem to be a lot of American registered aircraft calling at Cape Town.

Fantastic photos, Kremlin \:D/ :smt023

Re personalized aircraft registrations; it's like a car number plate where if you want a personalized one, you need to pay extra.
There's a ZU-MGL which is a Sling, and is owned by the founder of MGL Avionics.
