Seat done today. Took me about an hour, and stuck my fingers together only once! Not easy, but I think it's worth it.

Comments/questions welcome!

Thanks John,

It's quite, well, different to work with. I DO like the look, I think I need to bend and twist (and invest in some more tweezers!) some more next time.

Have wrestled this out of the Dark Ages! Finally getting somewhere now.

Ordered, received and managed to lose 1Kg of lead pellets #-o so have use about 30 1 Pence pieces as ballast! This means I've had to shut the bomb bay door, but no worries, as I wanted a 'clean' Canberra. Forgot how much filling and sanding Airfix kits need... And this is supposed to be a better one! Makes me glad I sold my Jaguar and Buccaneer...

So, this is where we're at this morning, wings, tail planes and engines added.

Had an easy dry fit of the panel, then you try to glue it! Sanding time!

You can probably see the amount of sanding I had to do to level the doors off. Not happy!

HI,

it's been a while.
Good to see you made some progress. Why didnt you get some air-rifle pellets? Cheap and works like a charm for nose weight, or is lead banned over there?

Cheers
John

Old vehicle wheel balancing weights cut up to the required shape also work wonders.

I'd ordered, received and managed to lose 1Kg of lead 'balls' (+-2mm diameter) and was snapping! Wanted to build, so just found the closest thing I could! Air rifle pellets are actually not that cheap here..
I got the 1Kg of lead from a scuba dive shop on eBay for about R80-00 delivered, so was happy with that.
Similar shot in tiny 100g boxes at fishing shops cost about R50-00!

Anyway, thanks for looking in and your comments, hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year(with many new boxes of lovely plastic for all!) :smt114
