Indeed - not cheap, thought this stuff was mostly reserved for Spes Ops? (e.g. Taakies). Who are these guys in normal SAPS dress with ballistic helmets and expensive weaponry?

Some changes clearly since I was last in SA.

Uncertain but the picture was taken from the SAPS thread on MilitaryForums.net Would like to see how the individual is holding it on the other side. I've no reason to doubt the competency of the individual wielding it.

That said, all of his kit does look brand spankers.

I am using old SAPolice names ie Riot Unit, Reaction Unit, these names in the SAPS are more PC now but are the same thing.

Below the Task Force is the Reaction Unit, the Reaction Unit is a Unit within a Riot Unit. The oldest Reaction Unit is # 9 which is part of Riot Unit 9 Durban.
Not all Riot Units though have a Reaction Unit.

Some of the Units below no longer exsist and some only came into exsistance after 1994.

I served in Riot Unit 8 before going to the Forensic Unit, from Rambo to powder puff moff. But my sable hair fingerprint brush and other kit put more"human garbage" behind bars than all my "toys" I had to play with at the Riot Unit.

Eish that list is from my SAPolice files, could never remember half of the post 1994 Units. Some of them are tiny and if called a Platoon would still be misnamed.

I was in Unit 20 Colenso and most of the members came from Unit 9 in Point, a few were from Unit 8 in PMB.
