Which scenario do you prefer? (1) He was not killed. (2) He was captured and taken back to the USA where the boys with the thumbscrews, waterboard and electric shock devices are now having a grand time?

Scenario 1 is an extremely risky one - all bin Laden has to do is send in a video of himself holding a current copy of the Abbottabad Advertiser and the USA has massive egg on it's face. And a lot of explaining to do to the voters, none of which will help the POTUS next election time.

Scenario 2 is almost as risky - just one whistleblower, one hint that he's alive and the Al Quaeda boys have plenty of reasons to spit the dummy. (They do think he's dead, mind you.)

I do not think it really matters - there are plenty rabid fundamentalists ready to step into his shoes. Culling one of them is like cutting one head off the hydra, not too productive.

The rumer-mill is pushing out a lot of missinformation as expected.
I've been watching a lot of news stations (BBC, CNN, FOX news, etc.), trying to seperate B.S. from facts. I take in information from the fairly level headed interviewees. One can be easilly be misled. With what I have to say, I'm not attacking annyone on this forum.

Bin Laden is dead, the Americans had his body, they did DNA tests to confirm it. His youngest wife who got shot in her leg trying to defend him, she is being interigated by Pakastani inteligence agents (ISI), she says he's dead. Al Quaeda say's he's dead. So, sources from different directions say he's dead. That is why I beleave he's dead.
His yougest wife also confirmed that Al Quaeda has split in two, and has cash flow problems

the Photos of Bin Ladens body face are photo-shopped badly

The Obama administration has decided not to release anny photos of Bin Laden, all pictures we see up to this point are photo shopped. I hope they do not change their minds, even though I would like to see them. It will only fuel his supporters, we need to have a leak to see them, after being embaressed by wikileaks, I think they will be more protective than before.

the fact that he was buried sea from USS Carl Vinson..is also a bit strange.. even though Muslim faith is that you should be buried within 24hours

The explenation was given, what country would allow his body to be buried on their soil? His country of birth would not allow it. It would give his supporter a shrine to visit, don't need that.

it took 10 years to find and kill Osama Bin Laden who was holed up in the multi million rand property built in 2005 just 600m from Pakistan's top military academy.

It was built well before 2005, upgraded in 2005 before he moved in. Many influential US folk have said that the Pakistnies must have known he was there, espcially with the top academy on the same street. Well, the US military also were stationed on that very street, they did not notice he was under their nose! The CIA watched his compound for months before the strike, and never saw him. A plumber who did repairs in the compound, did not see him, and suspected nothing. Only once a Navy Seal lay next to Bin Laden's body to compare his height, (over 6ft tall), did they believe they were looking at their man. Up to the point when they shot him, they did not know if he was living on the property.
Quote:
there is no substantial evidence to link Osama Bin Laden to terrorism that can guarantee a guilty verdict.

He watched via satelite in anticpation before the 9/11 strike took place, he knew how it was supposed to unfold, there is vidio footage of him celebrating the success of 3 out of 4 aircraft reaching their targets, bringing down the twin towers, and the general public was still to learn who, what had happened.
It was his second attack on the World Trade Centre, bombed US embassies in Kenya & Tanzania, attacked a US warship and the list goes on. Al Quaeda carried out these attacks, and he was the leader.
