I thought a person was innocent until proven guilty? Why didn't they drag him into the courts?

there is no substantial evidence to link Osama Bin Laden to terrorism that can guarantee a guilty verdict.

Good point. NAZI war criminals who committed abhorrent crimes on a far larger, systematic scale, were afforded the courtesy of a fair trial. Although that said, the evidence stacked against them was undeniable.

I would say there was a trial yes, thats as far as it goes.
I very much doubt the same approach could be considered or even allowed today.

Forgive me if I am reading too deep into things but... my interpretation of your statement almost implies that their trial wasn't fair?

Bear in mind that I hold no predisposition to either "side", I'm just open to both sides of the story.

I'm glad they decided not to release the photos of Bin Laden after he was introduced to a pointy projectile.

Most of the conspiracy theorists calling for photographic proof would not be able to tell one bearded gentleman of Middle-/Far-Eastern persuasion from another, while the balance will say that the photo is forged or manipulated.

Pity the same sentiment is never applied to the original perpetrator, only the one seeking revenge! Never mind me, I am one still mourning the abolition of hanging, drawing and quartering.

I personally do not believe Bin Laden is dead..its a american cover up again..the Photos of Bin Ladens body face are photo-shopped badly..can't believe america expects everyone to believe he is dead..and the fact that he was buried sea from USS Carl Vinson..is also a bit strange.. even though Muslim faith is that you should be buried within 24hours..all seems a bit of a cover up to me..there are too many questions and too little answers..as was September 11 #-o

Would you make a claim saying he was dead if you were not 100% sure .. ?

Imagine the consternation when he turns up somewhere very much alive & disproves your claim ..

Especially with the current euphoria in the USA... the president & the government's credibility will go out the window ... & the US people will get "pretty angry."

So I reckon that they are definitively confident that he will not be putting in a public appearance & the guano will stay away from the fan.

Seeing as none have been released it's no wonder you find the fake ones floating about badly photoshopped.

My profound apologies - even though I can find it in none of the links you quoted. But obviously Dr King must have Twittered it posing as Jean Dovey.

you could be right Eugene my internet is now telling me “I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy.” qoute are words of a certain Jessica Dovey who is a young American woman and an English teacher currently working in Kobe Japan. Her original post is editorially correct and reads as follows.

I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy.
“Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
MLK jr

It is derived from the following source:page 53 of the 1963 book The Strength to Love in the chapter entitled “Loving Your Enemies”

Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannon drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction. So when Jesus says “Love your enemies,” he is setting forth a profound and ultimately inescapable admonition. Have we not come to such an impasse in the modern world that we must love our enemies– or else? The chain reaction of evil–hate begetting hate, wars producing wars–must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation.

I also have a feeling that he wasn't killed. Why, I don't know.
