I am currently in grade 11, and am desperate to join the Air Force.
I would like to know when do you think i should apply, and is it worth it, as I have heard you don't fly as much as it used to be.
Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Grade 11 is the perfect time to apply.

Despite what you may read in the general press, SAAF pilots still get to fly and you will not find this type of training anywhere in civilian life. The airforce military life is not for everyone, but I suggest you read the many threads in this section with contributions by serving SAAF pilots. It's a tough life, but one that will stand you in good stead for the rest of your flying career.

I think u r absolutely in the best position/stage of your life 2 apply. Just apply (what I did was I sent 3 forms just 2 make sure ) you could also fax them the forms n call 2 hear if they received your fax. Then waite 4 an sms saying u up4 selections then leave everything to God's hands!

ok, so a bit of time went by and I didn't apply. I know, rookie error.
Now I am in Matric, and ready to fly. I currently have good grades, especially in Maths and Science. So now to apply.
Does anyone know where I can get updated application forms? (i.e ones where it says 'years of age on 01 january 2012' rather than 2011?) and also, do I mail it to them, or what?
What else must I include? ( copies of I.D? copies of report? I.D photos?)
When will the next selections that I can apply for be?

I'm sorry if these questions have already been asked, but I couldn't find them. If they have been answered then could you point to them.
