I think my reputation would be severely dented, climbing into a pink aeroplane ... this is however, not a what-if ... it is the real deal & was painted like this for the occasion of Saint Eloi in 1989 .. whatever saint Eloi is :?:

Awwwww. How fitting

You are getting very very good at this, Mr. Kremlin. If the SA av mags saw your stuff - the profilers they use at the moment would be out of business

Thanks Gerard :smt023 :D :D

I've seen some of those .... they can however churn out 10 profiles a week, .... where it takes me a week just to do the nose gear :(

Like I've said before .. I do this for the love of it and do not have to rush for the sake of a deadline.

Cheers

I agree 100%

I remember when I was working as an Av Photo Journalist. Working under deadlines and stress sort of made me forget why I love aviation as much as I do. Some people can work under the same stress and still maintain the workflow and the love for aviation, but not me, and after I finished there I sort of needed a reality check. It can really put a strain on your creativity. I am a much better photographer now than I was then, because the passion is back. If I want to go to an airshow - I have to work for it to make it happen - and doing aviation photography (or profiling in this case) in your spare time makes it all the more special. It is much better sitting at work wishing you were at an air force base, than it is sitting at an air force base and wishing you were at home.

Good Morning guys.

Kremlin, in this wonderful, absolutely brilliant series of the Mirage III family, when are you to do the RZ / R2Z? [-o<

Thanks Hornet01 :D

I'm currently busy modifying the drawings for that of the Mirage III E's. Then using the Mirage IIIBE profiles as a base, I already have about 90% of the IIID complete. So once the E's shape is done, I can start adding the R noses.

I also want to go to the SAAF museum and see if I can get some piccies of the R2Z with an open camera housing. (Also need some C-47 piccies whilst I'm there)

So next up will be:
Mirage IIIE
Mirage IIID
Mirage IIIR

Are you looking for a specific RZ ?

Cheers

There are two Mirages that I am nogals interested in;

Mirage IIIRZ 835 with the sharkmouth and low-viz scheme.
Mirage IIIR2Z 855. I believe that this was the one converted to the Cheetah R having the same serial number.

Pretty please.... [-o<

One question, Kremlin - How long do you spend doing initial line art? Cause it makes me friggen ages...

Yip .. the panel lines, rivets, shape masks from the line drawings .... these take forever :(

Sometimes I get impatient & get ahead of myself by starting to paint / shade before the line drawing is fully complete.
