With sorrow I hear that Crow Stannard passed away last night.
A helicopter pilot and Honoris Crux decoration for bravery holder, Crow retired from the SAAF as a Brigadier General. He was actively involved with SAAFA and wrote many historical articles, including the biography of Lt Gen Denis Earp, former Chief of the SAAF.
RIP brave airman, I shall not forget our many chats.
They shall grow not old
As we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning -
we will remember them
