I'm busy reading Dick Lord's book Vlamgat and was reading about the Cullinan crash where 2 F1's crashed close to each other. What struck me was the lack of info on why it happened in the first place.
I assume that Captain Wasserman's crash must have been through some technical issue with the engine but Major Brits' accident seems almost bizarre. Was any in depth investigation done on these accidents?
One of the first things that crossed my mind was that they both got loaded with "bad" fuel but that is my very uneducated theory. My apologies if this has been discussed before.....

I have a feeling that the second Mirage crashed because of lack of situation awareness, ie, the pilot was circling the area of the first crash and didn't realise how low he was.
