I was out with guests on a boat trip in Hout Bay this morning when a low-flying gripen came roaring by at speed! What a sight... She headed out towards Cape Point, only moving over the ocean. Was too quick for me to grap my camera.

Anyone know anything?

Perhaps taking over the maritime patrol role

Yesterdays complaint was about a low-flying aircraft over Saldanha.

Came over Hermanus twice this week, wonderful to some like me, but a lot of nagging on Facebook, people will complain about anything, even if their farts come out cold
I just love it, my complain, too fast without warning to grab camera
About a month ago it passed twice in one run, enough time to grab camera

I'd bet that many of the moaners are the same people who believe the SAAF has no pilots...

I'm so tempted to reply: Thanks for the heads-up, I'm on my way!

I've heard that first-hand from a few people. Complaints about the SAAF jets never flying because they 'never hear them' (Makhado is far away people), then bitter complaints about the noise made when Gripens or Hawks do fly over the big cities.

I was also in Hermanus part of an anti abalone poaching operation when I saw a Gripen fly past. Was a nice sight.
