I was given a hobbycraft (frog) 1/72 Shack, it will be an "interesting" and chalanging build to say the least.
The rivets all nee to come off and I will rescribe it all incl the rivets :)

I was hoping Revell/ Airfix would have announced a MR3 by now.

+1

Although I think totally new tooling would be required for at least the fuselage. Anyway, we live in hope :D

Theuns, you'll need to get some of those HGW rivets to keep them raised and to scale

I wanted to do a nice build but there is NO detail in the wheelwells and internal almost bare so it will be a fun build and my trumpeter rivet toll will have to suffice :)
I was tempted to do a pranged Pellican 16 in the sand...

I have one but not going to use it on this, even the finest one still looks overkill, the pannel detail has to surfice for now

I have 1/2 of the airframe sanded and scribed bit will put it away for now, maybe next year I will have more "lus" to complete it.
I was concerned about the very old decals but a test shows they do not break up in water so there is hope.

Gary at GRSM mentioned to me that Revell will release a 72nd MR.3 in 2019. Could not confirm on a Google search but would be a logical follow on to their earlier tail dragged kit. So hang bal 'n bietjie Theuns.....

I picked up some chatter about this but couldn't tell if it was official or not. Hopefully Revell will include SAAF CS options.

I built one but didn't sand off all the rivets etc as I did not know then how to at least scribe in new panel lines. I painted it then with all the filling and sanding it is a mess so just put it away for the future perhaps. Then last year I read that Hannants UK have a 1/72 Revell MR3 as a new release item due in 2019 so I am hoping to get one eventually and not have to waste a lot of time and effort in trying to fix my Frog Shack model mess. I will just apply the MAV decals and give it to my local SPCA to sell as I have done in the past with unwanted models.
