I finally completed this little dragon 1/48 D-7 in the colors of Ernst Udet.
Nice little kit.

Well Done T :smt023 =D>

That's a heck of a color scheme. Can you tell us more about the markings?

What was the purpose of mixing the candy stripes with Lozenge pattern?

Thanx

The scheme is Ernst Udet who flew for JG 1 and they mostly had brightly colored aircraft to scare the crap out of the enemy
Lozenge was a standard factory colour but they went mad at squadron level

The candy stripes were just there to be pretty , the "LO" on the side was the namw of his Girlfriend.
The "Du doch Nicht" on the tail translates to "Certainly not you" to mean that he will not be shot down.....must have worked as he was the highest surviving German ace of ww1

here is some interesting info about him https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernst_Udet

I also have a 1/45 Albatross DV with decals for his plane so I will do it like that.
