I cant find a pic showing a saaf f1 AZ with a centre line fuel tank on the belly.. Only 2 tanks on the inboard pylons.

I want to do a load of a bomb on each of the wing pylons (no tip missles) and a CL tank.
As it the craft was doing a bomrun to say Lohatla.

Would this have been a correct load or did they only use the centreline MER with wingtanks?

Was the CL tank the same camo as per the low vis wingtanks?

Hi mr T, check out this clip:

Skip to 4:16 and you will see a F1AZ with camo and grey (low-vis) belly tank with full bomb load. clip dates from 1996-1997 period, but I doubt the configurations would have changed much in those years post border war. Before that only the normal silver fuel tank on the center line station was carried (pre low-vis scheme).

The model has been pollished ready for decals, they are in the mail.
I now need to find a way to "ghost" the blue to a slightly more grey/blue without affecting the top colours. My mix of blue is a tad to "blue' and I dont want to mask and paint is all again.

Here is another image of the same configuration but a different aircraft (220?) as opposed to 217. I copied the pic from Facebook many moons ago so credit to the original photographer.

That better satisfy your seek to answers!

The kit supplied MER is wrong for saaf so I will just put a freefall bomb on each of the pylons and a CL fuel tank

[-X How dare you not comply!

Modelers discretion I would say. I think it will look great in such a combo. No reason it could not be carried. My focus was to prove they did carry the belly tank while also being painted in the low-vis scheme. :smt023

Exactly, that is the info I needed and am going with that. :D Tank and pylons all primed and ready for the "blue"

Ya, the $%&# post office strikers! See they've reached an agreement today, so hopefully the post now gets delivered. Been waiting for a parcel from the UK for two months now. :-x
